Figures printed in employers' own job ads, collected by Muster

We only count pay that an employer actually printed in the ad. Every figure is a yearly base salary — day rates, hourly rates, bonus, commission and equity are excluded, and ads with no figure are left out rather than guessed at. Where an ad gives a range we use its midpoint.

Figures are grouped into cuts of the market — company type, discipline and seniority — and each cut reports its lowest, typical (median) and highest advertised pay. A cut is only published once we hold at least three ads for it, and comparisons are stated as bottom quarter, typical band or top quarter rather than a false single number.

This comparison is built from 952 ads we have recorded. Advertised pay is not paid pay: ranges get negotiated, and small samples move a lot. Treat this as a read on what the market is advertising, nothing more.
